Catlin Cash Play Day

The first to arrive to play- Miss Tammie. She had lots of fun. The gals have been waiting for this day. They shopped hard all summer through the blazing heat.

Gerri was trying to make her decisions. What to buy with her play money.

Debbie and Mary so happy!!!!!!

Shopping and more shopping!!!!

Delores holding on to one of her purchases.

Here's Ellen deciding on a top. She's really deep in thought.

And more shoppers.

Valerie scoping it all out. What's a girl to do with all that play money.

Sharon popped in and found some great things to purchase. She had her eye on a wonderful chandlier. Yeah! -- it was still there. She was happy.

A happy customer on her way out the door with her great treasures.

A pondering moment.

Judi and Marta from Creative Quest stopped in to make sure we survived the day. Marta just had to try on one of our pettiskirts. She thought it would be great to teach a class in it. Anything goes Marta.

Marta just had to do it!

The end of the day we were really pooped. Heather had one of our customers call to see how we survived, she could hardly reach over for the phone.
A big thank you to all of my great customers who have supported me through the long hot summer. I hope you enjoyed the play day as much as I enjoyed having you come in and shop. I am so eternally grateful for you all!!! Many fun things will be happening once it cools down so stay posted. Carol

During our last Friday Nite Lites a sweet customer came in with a present for me. It was this wonderful book by Robin Brown. The story of Magnolia Pearl. For those not familiar with her, she is so creative in her style of decorating, purse and clothes making. I am thoroughly enjoying the book. Many thanks Sandi for being so thoughtful, we are kindred spirits!

During one of my creative bursts I designed these headbands. They are made with french lace and vintage looking silk flowers, embellished with rhinestones. They are now available at the #2 shop. I only had time to make three but if we run out I will make more.

Fun New Stuff

The birdhouse is at Cottage Garden #1 it was made by some gals in the Pacific Northwest.

There are some great vintage mink coat purses at #2 shop. They are such a great price!

Pauline is modeling our new little black dress aprons. They are some cute.

The bracelets are made of black lucite with blinged out intials. They would be great with some of our thin bangles stacked on the arm.

Our new purses are big and roomy with flowers all over the front. Very tres chic!

I brought back alot of clothing from Liz and Jane, Kleen and Cut Loose. I got a great deal on them so I am passing it on to you. They are one of this and one of that. So there is a very limited quantity available.

This a Christie Repasy print that I purchased from her on the trip to California. A few more available at #1 shop.

More clothing! Many pairs of pants, shorts and flood.

I have some great decorator pillows with birds, crown and the Frenchy No.7. The forms will be here soon or you might have your own forms to fill them. They are in all the country decorating magazines. Available in our vintage room at #2 shop. We have just been unpacking all sorts of fun things. Hope I've peaked your interest!

An inspiring store

We stopped at the Fountain Valley Mall where there is an Antropologie. The way they decorate the store is so inspiring to all of us decorating junkies. This store is the most creative one I have ever seen. In the middle of this store were all these old light bulbs dangling from ribbons. How they got them to light is beyond me. But it was quite a sight to behold.

In the open air mall there was a pond with koi fish and these two fountains. If you look really close there is a little black bird on the closer one drinking.

One of the walkways in the mall. The flowers were all so breathtaking. If I can remember my camera I will post some of the fun things I purchased for the shop when I was doing business on our getaway!

Ocean Day

We just spotted the ocean.

This is a beach in Huntington Beach.

I dipped my toes in the ocean.
And walked along the sand. It was absolutely a perfect day.

Even the dogs were having fun. We didn't tell our dogs who were at home in Phoenix that we went to a beach where dogs are welcome.

Huntington Botanical Gardens

On Sunday we went to the Rose Bowl flea market in the morning to find some fun treasures. Then it was off to see the botanical gardens. This was situated on the estate of the Huntingtons. Everywhere you turned there were beautiful flowers and unbelievable garden statues.

Taking a rest. The grounds were very vast.

The Huntingtons collected many great works of art. This was my favorite. The cherubs were so sweet.

My favorite garden statue. They were nestled in all the lushness of the gardens.
