Fall is coming, can you feel the cool!

Fall is coming, at least at the Cottage Garden. Pauline and I have been busy vignetting Halloween, as you see it is a work in progress.

Mr. CG and I painted the walls the other day, to help with the feel of Fall. Even though taking everything from the back house down to #1 was not an easy task in this heat.

But at least maybe when you step into this room it might just be a bit cooler.

We will hopefully have the room completed by the end of next week, stay tuned for the finished product.

More vignettes around my house

A sweet setting on my hoosier in the kitchen. Vintage and garden inspired finds.

On an old bodice display in my living room many found treasures.

I just love this birdhouse from a company I use to have in the store called Ginger and Pickles. I know many of you purchased their birdhouses from me through the years. There is a hint of my stenciling that I used to love to do.

I even decorated on top of the microwave. I do carry the garden style throughout the whole house.

In the dining room is an old french apothecary jar filled with dried rose heads. It adds another fun dimension instead of an empty jar.

Two New American Jewlery Artists

Our newest artists, Amy and Candy. Amy is from Sierra Vista and Candy is from Texas. They are both so very creative in their own unique way.

Candy has a chunky funky style.

While Amy uses copper and lots of turquoise in her pieces. Its all at the shop just waiting to be snatched up. And some already has been.

Sizzling Customer Appreciation Day

Heather is still smiling even after a busy customer day.

Laura Van frame nestled in our vintage french inspired room.

Lots of beautiful things filling the vintage room.

Many customers signed our e-mailing book, since I am converting over to e-mailing instead of mailing postcards.

The kitchen was filled with lots of yummy treats.
We had many fun customers enjoying their shopping at the Cottage Garden inspite of the 114° weather. Thanks to all for coming out and supporting the small businesses. We truly appreciate you.

cottage garden kittens

This is Henry, who I rescued last summer from the back yard of Cottage Garden I. He is the uncle of the babies I rescued this year. And now the babies.........

There were four little ones. Three boys and one girl. The one at the bottom of the stairs looks just like his daddy. I haven't named them except for the little girl who is Rosy. Any thoughts?

This is Rosy

This is the runt of the group, what a purrer.....

After dinner all curled up in their bed. They love playing and sleeping on the stairs.

Finally this is Blacky for lack of a better name who posed so cute in a turnover basket.

Vignettes around my house

The cross was made in Oregon from old wood and crafted with metal flowers by Laura Van. She also does wonderful picture frames.

Sweet blue bird cup and saucer perched on a shelf.

Vintage finds mixed with new.

Old oil lamp turned into a vase to hold roses.

Nestled in the corner of my kitchen counter.

My newest vignette at the top of the stairs. Nests, baskets and a Laura Van candlestick.

Dog days of Summer

I got creative and made these from old pocketwatch faces and wristwatch faces, they can be added to your own necklace or we have many in the shop to play with. The smaller ones look great on one of the ribbon necklaces.

Maddie and Max were keeping me company at the shop today, along with Jet and Lucky who were asleep in the kitchen. It was way to hot for them to frolic in the backyard. They come to the shop with us when hubby is running #1. They were having fun greeting the customers today.

We are having a Customer Appreciation Day on July 18th, 10am-5pm. You can dip into the cookie jar and receive a discount on all your purchases for that day. Even items already on sale. When you need a break from all the shopping there will be refreshments in the kitchen at #2. Happy Shopping! If you haven't already given us your email address I would greatly appreciate it if you would sign the book at the door at #2 with it, I am trying to convert over to emailing instead of mailing.

Okay so I goofed. This is the line to get into the show on opening morning. We didn't even stop for our Starbucks fix so we could be there right on time to find all the goodies for Cottage #2. But it was well worth it, wait till you see what we found.
We arrived at DFW and waited and waited for our luggage.

The airport baggage claim even had a sign to welcome all the buyers for the gift show.

Pauline was ready and raring to go. She was bright eyed and busy tailed even after a long flight and having to get up at the crack of dawn.

This is Michelle the gal behind the mink purses you have seen at the shop. We have many new ones on their way to us. This isn't a very good picture of her because she is quite the character. She had us skipping through the aisles.

Her booth was crazy busy with all the shop owners buying purses and her new t-shirts. We will have them in the shop also.

Pauline is in the middle of some of our purchases. We are going to have a great selection to choose from.

We were in the showroom featuring Wendy Addison, who as we are showing these pictures is in Paris creating for next year. Can hardly wait to see what she does.

We then went off to the Round Top showroom to see all the wonderful things Jeff the owner and designer has come up with. Cottage #1 will be soooo beautiful come this next Spring.

As soon as all the new treasures arrive I will post some more pictures to tempt you all to come in and brave the heat.
