Ocean Day

We just spotted the ocean.

This is a beach in Huntington Beach.

I dipped my toes in the ocean.
And walked along the sand. It was absolutely a perfect day.

Even the dogs were having fun. We didn't tell our dogs who were at home in Phoenix that we went to a beach where dogs are welcome.

Huntington Botanical Gardens

On Sunday we went to the Rose Bowl flea market in the morning to find some fun treasures. Then it was off to see the botanical gardens. This was situated on the estate of the Huntingtons. Everywhere you turned there were beautiful flowers and unbelievable garden statues.

Taking a rest. The grounds were very vast.

The Huntingtons collected many great works of art. This was my favorite. The cherubs were so sweet.

My favorite garden statue. They were nestled in all the lushness of the gardens.

Our California Getaway

We are on our way to the La Maison Barn sale. Our GPS took us over about 15 miles of dirt roads. It got us there but it was sure slow moving. The hills and valleys were beautiful. It is Temecula (wine country).

We finally arrived at the barn. There were so many fun things to look at. The girls showing at the sale were very creative in their displaying.

We met Christie Repsay and her wonderful works of art. They are now at the Cottage Garden. I picked the bird prints and are they so cute.

We then went off to Riverside to drop in on a couple of gals we met when we were in Spokane. They are sisters. One owns a restaurant and just down the way is CeeAnne's lovely shop Miss Tiggy Winkles.

Cee Anne and her right hand man (gal).

I love taking pictures of flowers since ours are all dried up from our heat. These were outside of a shop in Riverside.
More to follow in the coming days of the rest of our trip.

Halloween-We're done!

We are featuring a local gal, Lynn's wonderful pumpkins. They are made from different fabrics, some old and some new. The stems come from a pumpkin patch back East.

Pauline and I decorated our little hearts out for the last two weeks but the efforts were so worth it, we absolutely love the way our Halloween room turned out. I hope you enjoy the pictures and will stop in to see it soon.

Hubby and I are off to California for a few days to do some clothing orders and go to our first barn sale in Temecula and then off for some R & R, so I will have pictures of our road trip when we get back, until then stay cool!!!!!

Quiet times of Summer

While we are getting the shops ready for Halloween, thought I'd show you a few more settings in my house.
The cross is at the top of the stairs and is a work in progress. It will have other crosses around it in time. This very artsy cross was given to me by two of the girls that work for me for my birthday. It is very cherished...... Thank you Pauline and Sandra!
A little green shelf filled with a few sweet garden style items. Both vintage and new. Love the little ceramic basket that I purchased at a local flea market.

Above the cupboard in my dining room is a great vintage box with cottage style goodies on it. The birdhouse is from a local artist who used many vintage parts to create her works of art.

In my hallway is a little alcove.
